Avro Shacleton

  • Newark Air Museum (Winthorpe, Nottinghamshire): Displays Avro Shackleton MR.3 (WR977), marked in 42 Squadron colours with an accessible interior and exterior view.
  • Imperial War Museum Duxford (Cambridgeshire): Displays Avro Shackleton MR.3 (XF708) indoors in 203 Squadron markings.
  • Gatwick Aviation Museum( Charlwood, Surrey): Displays Avro Shackleton MR.3 (WR982) outside, with working engines that are occasionally run.
  • Avro Heritage Museum (Woodford, Stockport): Displays Avro Shackleton AEW.2 (WR960).
  • Yorkshire Air Museum (Elvington, York): Home to Avro Shackleton MR.2 (WR963, registered-SKTN), which was relocated and is undergoing reassembly/restoration.
  • South Wales Aviation Museum (St. Athan, Glamorgan): Displays Avro Shackleton MR.3 (WR974).
  • Cornwall Aero Park / Cornwall Aviation Society(Helston & RAF St. Mawgan): Preserves fuselage/nose sections including WG511 and WL795.
  • Fenland and West Norfolk Aviation Museum (Wisbech, Cambridgeshire): Preserves fuselage section WR971.

Short Sunderlands

  • Short Sunderland MR.5 (ML824)
    • Location: On static display in Hangar 1 at the RAF Museum London.
    • History: This aircraft originally served with the French Navy (Aéronavale) before being retired to Pembroke Dock and subsequently acquired by the museum in 1971. Visitors are permitted to access and walk through the interior.
  • Short Sunderland MR.5 (ML796)
    • Location: Preserved on indoor static display at the Imperial War Museum Duxford in Cambridgeshire, UK.
    • History: Following its military career, this aircraft had a colorful post-war life, including famously being converted for use as a bar and nightclub/disco in France before being rescued and meticulously restored.
  • Short Sunderland MR.5 (NZ4115)
    • Location: Housed in the Aviation Display Hall at the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) in Auckland, New Zealand.
    • History: It served with the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) No. 5 Squadron until the type was retired from maritime patrol duties in 1967. It has been beautifully preserved in its original military configuration.
  • Sunderland Mk III / Sandringham (ML814 / NZ4108): Located at Kermit Weeks' Fantasy of Flight in Florida, USA. Converted to a passenger layout by Ansett Flying Boat Services, it was flown across the Atlantic in 1993. It remains highly preserved in its civilian configuration and is the last potentially airworthy four-engined passenger flying boat. [
  • Sunderland Mk III / Sandringham (VH-BRC): Preserved at the Solent Sky Museum (formerly Southampton Hall of Aviation) in the UK. This luxury airliner conversion retains the classic hull but features civil modifications and last flew in 1981.
