Ladies and Gentlemen

I hope this finds you well, and, for those resident in the UK, you weathered the recent storms! Sadly, it seems to be the sign of things to come on a more regular basis.

It was wonderful to see so many members and guests at the 2026 Reunion at the historic Petwood Hotel in Lincs. It's a pleasure for me, and all Association Committee members, to organise these events and renew friendships with everyone who has the finest and oldest maritime Sqn in common. Not surprisingly, many members have already contacted us to enquire about the 2027 Reunion, which, in accordance with the current Association rota system, will be held in Guernsey. Although the next event is almost a year into the future, we always need to plan forward, and we can now reveal the dates and venue for the reunion and a proposed format.

Please see the attached letter from Chairman Chris Birks for details. Due to the events taking part on Guernsey during the week of our visit, hotel accommodation is at a premium and many venues are already fully booked, so I need to emphasise that, if you are planning to attend the reunion, you take the actions outlined in Chris's letter as soon as possible, in particular returning Annex A to both Chris and me and booking with the Cobo Bay Hotel no later than 7th January 2027.  The Cobo Bay Reception is open for telephone booking every day between 8am and 6pm.

If you do not plan or are unable to attend the 2027 Reunion, no response is required to this, but we look forward to seeing you at future events.

In other Association news, we're delighted to announce that former 201 Sqn Flight Engineer Jerry Flint has recently taken over the reins of the Association website from Ben Sola (who will remain on the Committee in a different but long term development capacity). Jerry has already met with Chris and me to discuss the website and future development, and has hit the ground running by refreshing the format and adding new content. It's still work in progress, but we would encourage members to have a look at the new site 201 SQUADRON ASSOCIATION – Hic Et Ubique (Here and Everywhere) where new content is being added as quickly as possible. It is intended that the website will be the first point of contact for Reunion information, and of course, this will be in the secure Members area. Jerry welcomes any constructive feedback and comments on the site so that it can be developed with members interests at the heart of it.

Warm regards

Joe Kennedy
